Bling. Also good to make a more visible third brake light on a lowered car.

I don’t get the people who buy trucks and then leave a bed cover on them... at all times. I understand not wanting rain/snow/etc. in your bed, but if you never take it off or tow anything... doesn’t that just defeat the purpose of buying a truck?

Sometimes normal ones are difficult to see, having more than one doesn’t really hurt anything.

Someone I know lives near me and has a truck. He *never ever ever* takes the bed cover off. Ever. I see it at the train station, at various parking lots, etc. Never with the cover off.

You might be right that this guy pictured doesn’t leave it on all the time though.

Seems like you're paying money for redundancy.

They must be cheap, easy to install, and applied via 3M adhesive. That’s the only way I can explain these things.. .

Redundancy, or making the vehicle more visible for safety? They might be tacky but they are functional.

The fine print in a few truck ads say they got their numbers with the optional cover on, soooo maybe for the +1 mpg?

In my case, because most of the stuff I throw back there isn’t tall enough to warrant it. Especially since taking it off is a huge pain in the ass. When I replace it with something that doesn’t come off like the roof of a Pluriel maybe it’ll be used more often.
